Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem is gaining momentum. With strong investor interest and a fast-growing tech landscape, the region is entering a new phase of opportunity. According to Statistics Research, regional venture capital funding is projected to reach US$13.7 billion by 2025. Citigroup also expects Asian tech funding to grow by 10% this year.

This sets the stage for GITEX Asia x Ai Everything Singapore, the region’s largest tech and startup event. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and KAOUN International, the show will run from 23 to 25 April 2025 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The event is affiliated with GITEX GLOBAL, the world’s largest tech show.

GITEX Asia is designed to connect startups with investors and new markets. One of its highlights is North Star Asia. This platform will host over 350 startups and more than 250 global investors managing US$200 billion in assets. Over 2,500 meetings have already been arranged.

The event will offer curated matchmaking services and investment-focused panels. Key discussions will explore IPOs, M&As, unicorn strategies, and long-term growth versus quick returns.

Singapore’s strategic location is attracting international interest. Yuki Shirato from Techstars Tokyo said the city is ideal for connecting Western and Eastern tech players. SEA’s young population and rapid development create fertile ground for tech innovation.

AI is a major focus. Kearney predicts it could boost SEA’s GDP by US$1 trillion by 2030. GITEX Asia will feature investors like the GenAI Fund, 500 Global, and Singapore’s Vertex Holdings. These firms are backing AI solutions in fintech, healthcare, agriculture, and logistics.

Startups from more than 50 countries will exhibit. Over 40% are new to the SEA market. Vietnam is prominently represented, with companies like Enfarm, ADT Global VN, and MedCAT leading in agritech, immersive media, and medical automation.

Participants also include firms from Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, the UAE, and more. XPANCEO, a UAE-based deep tech firm, will showcase its AR smart contact lens innovation.

The event also highlights the region’s growth. The SEA tech startup ecosystem hit a record US$454 billion valuation in the first half of 2024, according to Founders Forum Group.

Several showcases will run, including ‘AI 100 – Powered by Nebius’ and ‘Singapore 100’. North Star Asia will also host the Supernova Challenge, offering a US$100,000 prize pool.

GITEX Asia is set to become a defining platform for tech and startup growth in Southeast Asia.
