Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has announced the launch of an innovative initiative, “An Artificial Intelligence, AI Agent for Every Faculty.” This is the first initiative of its kind in the country and the region. The launch took place during a media meeting at the HBMSU Campus in Dubai.

This pioneering step aims to reshape the future of higher education. It aligns with the UAE’s “National AI Strategy 2031” and “Education Strategy 2033 (E33).” The initiative underscores HBMSU’s leading role in global innovation for higher education.

Dr. Mansoor Alawar, HBMSU Chancellor, said the initiative is in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and President of HBMSU. He stated that Dubai aims to shape a new stage where AI will be a pillar for designing future initiatives and services.

Dr. Mansoor added that under the guidance of Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and board members, HBMSU seeks to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global leader in AI-powered education. The initiative is seen as a game changer that transforms academic tasks into smart, fast processes. It enhances both faculty and learner experiences, supported by advanced agentic AI technology.

The initiative aims to:

  • Enhance the academic role of faculty members
  • Streamline academic tasks to allow more time for research and supervision
  • Personalize learning experiences and curricula for students

HBMSU reported that the system has reduced content development time by 85% and cut faculty workload by 95%. It also improved mastery by 40%. The platform lowers the cost of designing and producing courses and boosts research and development efforts.

The AI agent performs several tasks, including course content development, exam generation, and performance analysis. It also suggests strategies for learner support and assistance.

The platform was developed entirely in Dubai to meet international standards. It was led by Maitha Al-Tunaiji, Vice Chancellor of HBMSU for Artificial Intelligence and Technology. HBMSU revealed that the ecosystem follows professional ethics standards for AI use, focusing on privacy, bias reduction, transparency, and accessibility compliance.
