Jensen Huang said robotics will be South Korea’s next major sector as he arrived for his second visit in seven months. The NVIDIA CEO is strengthening ties with local firms across chips, robotics, and AI factories. He made the remarks after landing at Gimpo International Airport from Taiwan.

Moreover, Huang said Korea’s position as a global manufacturing centre makes it ideal for robotics and physical AI applications. He added that technologies developed in this field can be applied directly across industries. His comments were reported by Reuters.

In addition, he highlighted that semiconductor manufacturing will become increasingly robotics-driven and AI-driven in the future. Therefore, he said there is strong potential for partnerships with Korean semiconductor companies. He also noted Korea’s advanced industrial base in chips, electronics, cars, and shipbuilding.

Furthermore, Huang confirmed scheduled meetings with major Korean companies. These include Hyundai Motor, LG, SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Naver during his visit.

He also said, “Did I bring any gifts for Korea? I brought a lot of business for Korea,” adding, “I have some surprises.” In his first stop, he visited an internet cafe in Seoul and met e-sports players, including Lee Sang-hyeok, known as Faker. His daughter Madison Huang accompanied him and wore a T1 e-sports team uniform.

Meanwhile, he is expected to attend a pork barbecue dinner in Seoul with LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Naver founder Lee Hae-jin. A source familiar with the plan said the meeting is confidential. Huang said, “I love Korean barbecue” and “I love Korean fried chicken.”

When asked about investment plans, he said Korea offers multiple opportunities across sectors. He specifically highlighted robotics as a key future industry in the country. He also said Korea is strong in manufacturing, mechatronics, and artificial intelligence, and that combining these areas creates strong potential for robotics development.

Additionally, Huang said Nvidia has started hiring for its research and development centre in Korea. He added that once sufficient staff are in place, the company will establish a physical site.

Finally, Jensen Huang reiterated that robotics will be a defining growth area for Korea, as Jensen Huang continues to expand collaboration between Nvidia and Korean technology leaders.
