The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has officially launched the National Licensing Platform, an innovative initiative aimed at streamlining and standardizing the licensing process for health professionals across the UAE. This platform, developed in collaboration with health authorities nationwide, is designed to improve the licensing experience by reducing time and effort for users.
The platform integrates an entrepreneurial, innovative business model that offers comprehensive licensing services for medical professionals and specialized personnel in the healthcare sector, including doctors, nurses, technicians, pharmacists, and allied health specialists. By standardizing licensing procedures, the platform reduces processing time and enhances user satisfaction.
This move is part of MoHAP’s ongoing efforts to boost the regulation of the health sector, enhancing its competitiveness, flexibility, and overall efficiency. The platform also serves as a key component in the Ministry’s strategy to create a digitally governed system supported by qualified professionals, contributing to a healthier community.
Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, highlighted that the platform represents a transformative step in enhancing the health licensing system, offering unified standards and streamlining processes nationwide. “We are committed to creating an innovative regulatory environment that adapts to the rapid advancements in the healthcare sector,” he said. “The national platform will help ensure high-quality health services and support the leadership’s vision of building a sustainable healthcare system.”
The platform will play a critical role in standardizing the evaluation and accreditation of health professionals’ qualifications, certificates, and experience. It will also support the mutual recognition of evaluations across government health authorities, facilitating the seamless transfer of health professionals between federal, local, and private sectors.
Alla Mansour, Acting Director of the Licencing and Accreditation Department at MoHAP, emphasized that the platform is a significant step in the Ministry’s digital transformation, aligning with the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) program. “This platform will provide integrated solutions for health professionals, helping to issue and renew licenses in line with global standards,” Mansour explained. “It is a key part of our strategy to build a well-governed, integrated health system.”
The National Licensing Platform sets a new benchmark for licensing health professionals in the UAE, ensuring that the country’s healthcare sector remains competitive, efficient, and aligned with international best practices.
