Oracle and Microsoft have announced the launch of Oracle cloud Database@Azure in the United Arab Emirates. The service is now available in the Microsoft Azure UAE Central and UAE North regions.

This launch allows customers to access the performance, resiliency, security, and scalability of Oracle Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), along with Azure’s enterprise-grade AI, analytics, and security capabilities.

Oracle revealed that Oracle Database@Azure is now available in 27 regions worldwide, with six additional regions planned over the next 12 months. The expansion meets rising global demand for multicloud database solutions.

Oracle Database@Azure enables customers to deploy Oracle Database services and Azure services together in the same Microsoft datacenters. The platform includes Oracle Exadata Database Service, Oracle Autonomous Database, and Oracle Base Database Service. Customers can also enhance data protection using Oracle Database Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service.

Assaad El Saadi, Vice President of Database Platform for UAE & Oman at Oracle, said the launch marks a milestone for the UAE’s digital future. He added that by combining Oracle Database performance with Azure’s AI capabilities, customers across various sectors can accelerate transformation without limits.

Rima Semaan, Data and AI Lead at Microsoft UAE, stated that the launch represents a major step forward for multicloud innovation. She emphasized that organizations can now run mission-critical applications locally while leveraging advanced analytics and AI tools.

Talal Mohammed Al Ali, Director of Digital Transformation at Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE), said adopting Oracle Database@Azure supports digital governance and enhances operational efficiency.

Oracle Database@Azure offers several key benefits:
• Simplified database migration to the cloud with low latency and pricing parity with OCI.
• Unified experience with Oracle and Microsoft licenses and support.
• Flexible purchasing through the Microsoft Marketplace and pay-as-you-go options.

Oracle reported that Oracle Database@Azure runs on OCI within Azure datacenters, giving customers a unified multicloud environment tested and supported by both companies. The launch strengthens the UAE’s position as a regional hub for cloud innovation and enterprise transformation.
