Samsung has announced the rollout of new anti-theft features with the latest One UI 7 update. This move reinforces the company’s focus on user safety and data protection.

The company revealed that the updates include enhanced security tools for Galaxy devices. These tools aim to protect users in high-risk situations, such as theft or robbery.

Samsung’s new Theft Protection suite builds on standard Android security. It includes features designed to protect data even if the device’s PIN is compromised.

Key updates include:

  • Theft Detection Lock: Uses AI to detect motion like snatching and locks the screen instantly.
  • Offline Device Lock: Automatically locks the screen if the phone is offline for too long.
  • Remote Lock: Lets users lock a stolen phone remotely using their number and a quick verification step.

Samsung also introduced new anti-robbery features. One of them, Identity Check, requires biometric authentication in unfamiliar locations. This adds extra protection when a PIN may have been exposed.

Another feature, Security Delay, enforces a one-hour wait time if someone tries to reset biometric data. This gives users time to lock the stolen device using another connected device.

These features are now available on select Galaxy smartphones. Devices include the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, S23, and S22 series. Samsung reported that more devices will receive the update throughout the year.

The company continues to urge Galaxy users to activate these tools for smarter and stronger protection.
