Global data security company Forcepoint has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Getvisibility, an innovator in AI-driven Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and Data Detection and Response (DDR). This strategic acquisition strengthens Forcepoint’s Data Security Everywhere platform, enhancing risk mitigation and speeding compliance for enterprise and government customers.
Forcepoint’s platform already unifies visibility and control over sensitive data, while Getvisibility’s advanced DSPM and DDR capabilities further improve users’ ability to identify, classify, and protect data risks. The acquisition builds on a successful multi-year partnership, integrating Getvisibility’s AI-powered risk visibility and remediation into Forcepoint’s comprehensive data security solutions.
This collaboration aims to simplify security management, enhance risk mitigation, and accelerate compliance processes for modern hybrid and AI environments. It strengthens interoperability between Getvisibility’s capabilities and Forcepoint’s full-lifecycle data security solutions, allowing for seamless discovery, classification, prioritization, remediation, and protection of sensitive data such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and intellectual property.
For more than two years, Getvisibility’s AI-mesh technology has been a critical element of Forcepoint’s approach to data security. This advanced system, designed to improve accuracy and speed in data classification and risk detection, provides deep insights into data risks such as redundant or misplaced files, improper access, and regulatory exposure.
“Data is the new currency of business, and every organization is racing to unlock its value while minimizing risk,” said Ryan Windham, CEO of Forcepoint. “By further integrating Getvisibility’s AI-driven DSPM and DDR, we are giving enterprises and governments the tools needed to turn data security into a strategic advantage.”
The stakes for managing data risk have never been higher, as businesses depend on data for decision-making, innovation, and competitive advantage. Data breaches, averaging $5 million per incident, are not only costly but have been accompanied by rising class action lawsuits, which are predicted to exceed regulatory fines by 50% in 2025.
Frank Dickson, Group Vice President for Cybersecurity Products at IDC, added, “Organizations are looking for integrated solutions that simplify security management, reduce complexity, and mitigate risk across their growing digital environments.”
With Getvisibility’s DSPM and DDR technologies integrated into Forcepoint’s Data Security Everywhere framework, customers will benefit from:
Ronan Murphy, Co-founder of Getvisibility, shared, “By joining forces with Forcepoint, we’re amplifying our AI-powered insights, helping customers pinpoint risks, and protecting critical data with accuracy and speed.”
With this acquisition, Forcepoint is poised to redefine data security in the AI era, providing organizations with the necessary tools to secure critical assets, ensure compliance, and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
Mark Brosnan, Co-founder of Getvisibility, added, “We’re excited to join Forcepoint, amplifying our AI-driven risk mitigation capabilities and accelerating innovation to protect critical data assets.”
