Yahsat with Ericsson on a global partnership to boost telecom technologies

Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PJSC established a cooperation with Ericsson to deliver private network, data, and internet connectivity services to the oil and gas, mining, and ports industries. The integrated solution delivers safe, dependable, and low-latency local connectivity, allowing Industry 4.0 use cases to be deployed on a single network while sensitive data is kept on-site.

Ericsson’s private network solution, combined with Yahsat’s satellite connectivity and services, will empower advanced IoT use cases. Predictive maintenance, connected worker, augmented reality, sensor-based monitoring, and automated guided vehicles are some exciting examples.”

Yahsat and Ericsson will offer integrated essential connectivity solutions to address industrial concerns such as a lack of network separation for communications, high operating costs, and data speed and coverage limits. Both parties will co-market and expand sales of a number of key applications, including remote sensing, video surveillance, UAVs and drones, geo-positioning, backhaul solutions for offshore oil drill locations, and general data connectivity, as part of this arrangement. The solutions provided will be critical in completing the technology and connectivity ecosystem required for the adoption of automation and IoT in these industries.

Ericsson’s telecommunications and technology will be used in this relationship to benefit these essential businesses, which typically operate in remote places. Yahsat and Ericsson want to extend their private network presence in the region and offer value-added services to current and potential clients.
